movember anthony llobet academy event

Movember is a campaign that gets men to grow their moustaches for 30 days once a year to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate or testicular cancer.  It is organised by the Movember Foundation, a global organization whose slogan is “change the face of men’s health”.

The Movember (moustache + November) campaign aims to get men talking about their health and to increase awareness about the risks. Using the moustache as an agent for change, they aim to give men the opportunity and confidence to learn and talk more openly about their health, and give them more access to healthcare services.

The Movember Foundation aims to get men with prostate or testicular cancer the treatment and the care they need, both physically and mentally. The campaign aims to improve funding for men’s health programs by investing in biomedical, clinical, and educational initiatives and care and services for men.

Emma and her team at Anthony Llobet Raval joined this initiative with a “Dress up to shave down party”, held on Friday 31st October in our Raval salon. Clients were treated to shaves, haircuts, hairstyles, Halloween themed makeup and DJ sessions, all washed down with Jameson Ambassadors whisky cocktails, and Barcino Brewers artesan beers. All the funds raised were given entirely to the Movember campaign.

At the Barcelona Hair Academy we love with this campaign! It uses the humble moustache to improve the lives of men with prostate and testicular cancer. The initiative started in Australia in 2003 and currently takes place in 22 countries.
